TESTIMONIALS

the concept of stubblemelt verges on the wonderfully ridiculous, but the songs they are producing are heartfelt full bodied chunks of rock that shake the floor and embed the chorus hooks and catchy riffs into your head for  weeks on end.”

Tim Johns - BBC Introducing

DEBUT ALBUM 'Gypaetus Barbatus'

Track 1: The March:
A regimented beat; homage to glam rock era with a 70s vibe, let the battle commence.

Political commentary focussing on power struggles, this track kicks in disequilibriums

within life. With significant breakdowns, homage to rock legends in terms of cute guitar

rifts, recurring words to add symmetry and routine, leads reaching out to in a non

apologetic and compelling style and a powerful fat bottom end from the bass; this

impressive track introduces the album with pure temerity

Track 2: Hold Me:
Ok, let's take a slice of pure, oh so very traditional and proper middle England, add a touch

of ironic, delicate lyrics, that rise and fall, like a genial bike ride in the countryside and simple,

but purposeful principal guitar leads and you will be rewarded with this gentle love song. Enjoy, it's pretty!

Track 3: Uberloader:
Free falling; chaotic; confused; a circus of extravagant indulgent lyrics; metaphors with sexual undertones abound this indulgent track. It's complex; a volcanic explosion of sound-scapes and interesting key changes that lead it's listener through an eargasm of emotions. Heavy bass and climatic vocals create a sense of desperation, when all around is imploding! Strap yourself in for a roller coaster of a ride with this one!

Track 4: Can't Be True
Surely homage to a Rocky horror show? Unadulterated sex sounds; incredible leads with bass and fat sounds; deep, silky vocals; slinky and seductive combinations, collaborate effectively to provide a bevy of authentic tonality!

Track 5: Don't Know
Clashing guitars; musical theatre with quirky sounds; like a hysterical dream; daliesque. This track wouldn't be out of place merging with inspirational surrealist masterpieces hanging in any formidable gallery!

Track 6: Welcome Back:
It's in this track that we become the "Bystander". It's angelic and we are permitted a glimpse into the story teller's personal world. A tale of painful emotions; raw and unabridged. This is a narrator laid bare, where the vocals reflect emotions! Beautiful, powerful and honest!

Track 7: Last Good Few:
Biblical; hymnesque; with slow exaggerated sounds; breakdown and tempo change; an orchestral sound scape which is etheral & high pitched. The keyboard confidently brands it's authority all over this track

Track 8: Follow The Fallen:
Atmospheric intro with haunting overtones to set the scene for what's to follow. Contrasting gentle percussion sounds, creating a bubolic and waveless sensuality carefully wrapping senses evoking a sense of unassailability. The breakdown is symbolic , but we are guided to the conclusion against metaphoric water gently lapping on shores with extended notes and a finality of drum beats stealing the show

Track 9: Heaven:
Sexy, gravid, non apologetic guitars lead magnificently into a treat; clouds are lifted and incandescent rays from the sun expectantly warm bodies. Order has been restored; equilibrium is re -established; nothing will be the same, but it's permissible. There's a new growth from old wounds to build upon and derive a new life. This is personal; it's raw, but it's honest, truthful and borne from painful love

Track 10: Only a Kiss:
reminiscent reflections looking back, with some regrets. Deliberate and dreamlike; unfurling memories that are painful. Ensuing freedom which unfortunately comes with it's own set of conditions and consequences! Makes for interesting thinking

Track 11: Riding Waves:
Roll your sleeves up, roll the windows down, turn the volume up and hit the beach. All that is symbolic and representative with summer tides is evoked within this beautiful song. It's warm hearted and good fun; it's melodic; it's infectious, it's rise and fall is evocative, whilst quintessentially classic. The sun is out; there are no more dark days; the smile that has been omitted for so long has returned.

Track 12: Man v Venus:
An homage to the future, with a techno, robotic vibe, not dissimilar to early 90s sounds. With the new equilibrium elicits a hard love; a love that is purely mechanical, devoid of profound emotions. The future can only be superficial; it will be functional and operational; meeting carnal need. And why not?

Track 13: Tears:
The battle is purposeful; deserving of concentration and focus, but when it's complete, is victory worth celebration. Left raw, lacerated and scarred, what follows? Can you forgive? Life can never be the same, and so fall the tears and the lamenting. The weight of the grief impacts, so alone, quiet painful tears escape to descend gently across hardened masks. No real words need to be spoken at the breakdown; it's the combination of rich guitars creating a symphony of musicality making it more symbolic and real. Everyone needs to scream!

Track 14: Journeyman:
Life's foundations are decimated; like a wounded animal emanating from the hideaway, the broken human needs to rebuild. He's survived; he is reborn, better, achieving and accomplished. What will he become? What does he want to become......Monastic choral sounds evoke wild emotions collaborating with alluring and exquisite guitar leads of epic proportions. It's closure for this particular chapter within the Journey. But what follows?

EP 'The Search'

Released 21st August 2011.

Track 1: Evil Insane
If ever there was a narrative score within a single track, this is it. A journey that begins where it ends,

or ends where it begins, is a decision for the listener. A slow intro, with ethereal harmonies introduces

a dark, albeit overtly sexually charged piece of art that tests the most experienced of analysts in terms

of meanings. Rich guitar sounds, beautiful, yet malevolent vocals blend perfectly. It is spellbinding,

wonderous and frolicsome; a journey into the unknown, but compelling enough to take the risk. Come with us!

Track 2: Blood Money
Undulating vocals introduce the consumer to a sequence of lyrics describing a scene between two conflicting individuals, where distrust and resentment are catalysts for a breakdown. The vocals build to a crescendo of instruments, resembling the climax of the situation. Poetic undertones, using rhyming couplets to emphasise messages. A track that uses distinctive lyrics to create imagery let's you envisage pain and heartache leading to certain termination. ".....take it or leave it"

Track 3: See Your Lovers
More conflict; but the pain has located itself through eyes. Continued penetration, further scrutiny. "Face to face with questions". Why would anyone need that in their lives? The energy, the hard work, the continued fight for survival for a better life, but when doubt replaces affirmation and castigation replaces tenderness, emotions become colourless and arid. Amid the conflicting turmoil derives hope and a symbolic smile suggests the breaking of a beautiful new day

Track 4: Lord of the Gods
Completing, confused pulsating track that reflects the increasing tension crewed in the EP. The need for clarity commands action. We become part of the discourse; a maelstrom of frenzied lyrics where the victims journey becomes our journey and we are lead into the turbulent world through a cacophony of instruments that personify the intensified anger swelling beneath

Track 5: Angry Troll
The culmination; the end of the beginning, where anger becomes submerged following a series of destructive incidents. Volatility has been quelled and order restored. Using interesting combinations of sounds and vocals, we lead through an entangled web of destruction until it is cleared and the sun is finally able to raise it's dulled shine. But are we complete in this journey or are there further battles ahead?

Single 'Lifetime'

"Lifetime", the single, was our first partnership with Simon Hopkinson, at Electric Bear Studios in Mansfield. We felt we had something unique, combining our desire for aesthetic qualities with a passion for excellence in music. This single was released in March 2013, to "test the waters", a risk averse endeavour to share our reverence with like minded individuals. It featured current band members with the inclusion of Craig Pedley on Synth, later replaced by existing member, Amy Collins.
