DANNY MCGhEE

Choreographer & Casting Director

Danny McGhee is an experienced sports consultant and choreographer, with an eclectic background of professional football, professional football freestyle and award winning entrepreneurship. He has choreographed some of the worlds best footballers, in Samir Nasri, Vincent Kompany, Jesus Navas, Aaron Ramsey, Alvaro Negredo, Fernando Reges, Marrouane Fellaini, Adnan Januzaj, Robin Van Persie, Cesc Fabregas to name a few and is broadening his consultancy expertise into other sports other than football.

He has worked with brands such as ITV, BBC, Manchester United, Pepsi, New Balance, Audi, River Island, and many more.

His football career started at the age of 11 at Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. and he would go on to earn his first professional contract at the age of 18 after spending nearly 8 years at the club. The cut throat business of football came apparent after failing to retain his contract, at the age of 20 Danny had spells at West Bromwich Albion and Walsall F.C. before dropping out of the game completely to start his own business.

After 4 years out of the game, Danny returned to the professional game through the National Conference, during  3 year spell with teams Hednesford Town F.C. and Kidderminster Harriers, winning the coveted F.A. Trophy in 2004. At this point up to the age of 27, Danny was making a full time living from the game, until he suffered a succession of knee injuries. Pre patella bursitis on his right knee and a anterior and posterior cartilage snap in his left knee, left him planning his exit route from the game.

In 2008 he took the plunge and took his football coaching badges and embarked on a journey coaching elite soccer players on the east coast of America. He worked with all age groups and managed to make a bit of history by leading his High School team to the Mid New Jersey Division title, going unbeaten for the whole season. He continued to further his education taking regional and national soccer coaching diplomas in the U.S.A.

It was whilst in the U.S.A. where Danny realised his professional playing days were over, that he would start ‘messing around with a ball again.’ This time in a completely different way, through the art of Freestyle Football. What started out as a bit of a joke, a hou

semate filmed Danny doing football tricks to music, and after a post on a certain social media platform people started asking Danny to perform his flamboyant football skills and requesting more videos. His ball skills aligned with the growth of footballs urban sub-cultures Freestyle Football and Street Football, helped create another new pathway in professional sport for Danny.

Danny went from doing keepie-uppies in his back garden to performing in front of 80,000 people at Manchester United FC v Chelsea within 6 months. Danny has travelled the world since performing as a professional football freestyler working for some of the worlds biggest brands and companies. Identifying a gap in the market he has created the company Global Freestyle which offers the  service of the worlds best football freestylers, whilst operating as a brand with innovative merchandise and products. Proving  very popular in a niche market.

In 2011 Danny scooped the National Princes Trust Enterprise Award

for his journey from injured footballer to flourishing entrepreneur.

His business continues to expand with a growing team of expertise.

In a collaboration with one of his team his vision has lead to the

development of an innovative football programme, which has since

been accredited. A flattering level of support has been given to

programme with an endorsement from the Professional Footballers

Association. The aim is to change the way football is coached and

taught in the UK.

Danny’s eclectic background has lead him to becoming the perfect ally to a director, with his expertise and experience in professional sport, his ability to demonstrate and his warm approach and people skills. A choreographer whose role has clearly been defined by his experiences.
